The first stand-out mechanic is called Enrage. The way enrage works is different for every boss. Each boss has a unique way that you build enrage, like Solomon who builds enrage by the party gaining buffs. A boss can only gain a certain amount of enrage, and at max stacks, they will sometimes gain new abilities. The more stacks of enrage a boss has, the higher select stats for that boss will be.

There are 2 main types of bosses in Chronicles. those who can summon allies to their aid, and ones who fight solo. the ones that fight solo, the party can target different limbs, each of which can be crippled, limiting the boss's move set. The ones that can summon allies, once the boss is defeated, the allies will flee from combat.

Bosses will be immune to stun and insta kill effects

After every boss fight, you will gain either a new weapon/armor, or a way to transform/upgrade existing armor sets. you will also gain a level cap increase, alongside your settlements getting upgrades. on the flipside, Solomon's army will also gain new upgrades to their equipment depending on what settlements are under their control.
